Akkeem Polack
Chairperson

Akkeem Polack serves as the 39th Chairperson of the University Student Senate and as Student Trustee on the CUNY Board of Trustees, representing more than 240,000 students across 26 campuses. His advocacy is shaped by lived experience balancing academics, work, and community responsibilities, giving him a grounded understanding of the realities CUNY students face.


Bianca Jones
Vice Chair for Fiscal Affairs

Bianca Jones is a graduate student at City College of New York, pursuing a Master of Arts in the Americas with a concentration in Human Rights and graduating in Spring 2026. At City College, she serves as Executive Chair of the Graduate Student Council and as the University Student Senate Delegate.

Damir Shavkatov
Vice Chair for Senior College Affairs

Damir Shavkatov is a first generation immigrant from Uzbekistan pursuing a Psychology major with a Marketing minor at Brooklyn College. He began his campus involvement as a tour guide in Undergraduate Admissions, supporting prospective students as they navigated their entry into college life. As a peer mentor, he has guided first year students through academic and personal transitions. His volunteer leadership earned him recognition as the 2024 Brooklyn College Volunteer of the Year.


Tyler Woods
Vice Chair for Community College Affairs

Tyler Woods is a first generation New Yorker from the Bronx completing his Associate degree at Hostos Community College in Spring 2026, with plans to pursue a BA at Hunter College and doctoral studies in psychology. His advocacy began as a student senator and expanded into leadership roles including Hostos Vice President for Student Affairs, University Student Senate Delegate, and Vice Chair for Community College Affairs.


Shawn Rajkumar
Vice Chair for Evening and Part Time Affairs

Shawn Rajkumar represents the interests of evening and part time students across CUNY. In this role, he focuses on ensuring that students balancing work, family, and academics have equitable access to resources, services, and decision making processes within the university.

Fatima Zahara Kamil
Vice Chair for International Student Affairs

Fatima Zahara Kamil is an international student from Ghana and a first generation college student majoring in Biology at Kingsborough Community College. Raised in Suame within the Kumasi Metropolitan area, she brings a strong sense of community responsibility to her academic and advocacy work.


Wei Chong
Vice Chair for Technology Fee Affairs

Wei Chong is a lifelong New Yorker and first generation college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems at New York City College of Technology. His academic journey includes prior study at Borough of Manhattan Community College and LaGuardia Community College.
