USS MISSION STATEMENT

The University Student Senate (USS) of the City University of New York (CUNY) was founded in 1972 with the mission of preserving the accessibility, affordability, and excellence of higher education within the City University of New York; the organization is charged with protecting the rights of the student body, furthering the cause of public higher education and promoting the general welfare of its student constituents and the University. The USS delegates are responsible for the representative governance of the 500,000 students of the 25 CUNY campuses

MESSAGE FROM THE USS CHAIRPERSON

Dear Friends,

 

Thank you for visiting the CUNY University Student Senate website. We are here to serve the over 500,000 students of the 24 colleges of the City University of New York. The goal of USS is to ensure that CUNY continues to provide an affordable, accessible, and quality education to the diverse population of New York City and our great nation.

 

We are always interested in partnering with CUNY students and CUNY organizations to enhance the student experience at CUNY. We encourage, promote, and support partnership across CUNY campuses between students, faculty, administration, student governments, and other student clubs and organizations.

 

Please reach out to us with questions, comments, concerns and ideas on how we can collectively improve the CUNY student experience.
